Gordon Edward Pfeiffer

Gordon Edward Pfeiffer was born October 10, 1899 in Québec City. Gordon began painting at the age of 12 under the tutelage of Québec art instructor, A. Bonham. He is best known as an oil, watercolour and pastel landscape painter. He was later encouraged by various Canadian and American artists of whom he frequently sketched with in Québec, Île d’Orléans, and Comté de Charlevoix. These artists included: Robert Pilot, André Bieler, William Glackens, and Dewey Albinson. Pfeiffer was based in the Montreal area for over 30 years, but also travelled to France, England and Ireland to study painting.
