Ted Hodgetts lives and works near the village of Millbrook, Ontario in a studio shared with his partner, potter, Jane Wilson. He has been working with wood for over twenty five years, primarily as a wood turner producting one of a kind, lathe turned vessels in exotic and burled woods.
His work has been widely exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Canada, the U.S.A. and Europe and he has been the recipient of numerous arts awards as well as the subject of articles and reviews in national and international publications.

One of Ted's turned vessels was recently featured on a Canadian postage stamp, part of the Millennium Collection commissioned by Canada Post to celebrate the history of Canada. The stamp honours three generations of the Massey family for their contributions to Canadian culture and the arts and the turning was chosen to represent the achievements of the late Hart Massey, who assembled the Massey Collection of Crafts presently housed at the Museum of Civilization, Hull, Quebec.

Hollow Vessels from the Wenge Series, turned in African Wenge and Brazilian Pau Amarella with Holly and Ebony banding. The piece in the foreground is in the Massey Collection of Craft and is featured on the postage stamp published in the Millennium Collection to honour the Massey family.
The stamp was designed for Canada Post by Debby Adams, Adams and Assoc., Toronto, Canada.
