The pieces depicted are from current Gold Bowl Series. Vessels are lathe turned to a thin wall section in Ash, Oak, Hickory, Maple and Maple Burl. The woods are bleached to leave only vestigial colour and figure, the bowl rims are carved and dyed with black pigment and the interiors gilded with 22 k gold leaf. Bowls range from 3.5' to 14" in diameter, 4" to 10" in height.
Turnings in this series are currently on exhibit at Gallery Materia in Scottsdale, Arizona and in the Small Treasures Exhibition, an exhibit of small works in wood at the Del Mano Gallery, Los Angeles, CA.
